General Silliness at the Conservatory

My son and his girlfriend decided to surprise me with their rendition of the theme song to the Greatest American Hero. (A largely forgettable TV show from the 80s.) For some reason, my husband told them I had a crush on the star. NOT! Gag me with a spoon, will ya?

  1. I know I liked this show, but it must be forgettable since I can’t recall anything other than the theme song!

Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode where George makes his own song for this for his outbound answering machine message? Something like, “Believe it or not George is not at home, do you wonder where he could be -e -e? . . .”

  2. You already know what I think about this.

  3. BTW, thanks for the earworm.

  4. Sorry about that. He could have picked a worse earworm. Something by Christopher Cross? That would likely cause mass suicide.

  5. It could be worse. Don’t forget about my Brady Bunch earworm a few weeks ago.

  6. I used to go around the house when the kids were little humming that song all the time. This is so sweet.

  7. You have a grown kid, who has a girlfriend, yet makes time to do silly things for you. Enjoy!

  8. That’s true. We have a lot of fun when we’re together. 🙂

  9. I remember that show. Like Jenny, the only thing I can remember is the theme song. I think that’s funny. I can’t watch the video right now. Later. Oh yeah. What Shawn said is lovely and perfect.

  10. Funny story about Christopher Cross. In the early 90s a guy friend I know was hitting on this woman at a club. She told him how much she liked Kris Kross, and he’s like, “oh yeah, I love him too! Sail away was such a great song.” Needless to say, she wasn’t interested in him. 😉

  11. OK. I see your point. He’s still cute though.
