I’m taking off tonight, for the Left Coast. This is because Ms. MiniDemonic has been accepted to a college there, and we are checking it out before signing our life away.
As a result, I will be noticeably absent this week, although I may drop in say hello or rant or rave about something.
I am so happy to be leaving! There’s still snow here, and all y’all know how I feel about the cold wet white stuff.

I often wonder whether I would have gone to Oberlin if my mother and I had visited it first. We didn’t visit any of the colleges that accepted me.

You must ALWAYS visit a college before attending, David! That’s for sure. If you had visited Oberlin first, you may not have decided to go there at all. Just think how different your life would have been.

Funny thing…your daughter is moving from the right coast to the left and mine is doing the opposite! She’s trading warm weather for cold and snow.
We visited. It made me feel good about the place and more willing to “let her go”.
It snowed here today. I guess you know that. I guess you also know I’ve missed you.
